Whiskers of Love

Whiskers of Love is a fairly new program to help families with a special need for a loyal and loving companion. Once a year, one deserving family will be selected to receive a Ragdoll kitten at no charge. Families are selected with discretion, and are added to the current waiting list. The date they are approved is considered their “deposit date” for the order of kitten choice. Recommendations for choosing a kitten will be provided based on the specific needs of the family, but families will ultimately be able to choose any available kitten they would like, in order of the waiting list. Normal rules will apply should the family decide to wait until the next litter.

In order to qualify for Whiskers of Love, families must be able to demonstrate their financial ability to provide necessary care – veterinary care, feeding recommended food, environmental enrichment etc. Application for the program is not dependent on a medical condition – any traumatic, life-changing event(s) or diagnosed medical condition will be considered. Proof of traumatic event or medical diagnosis may be required for consideration of approval. Anyone applying for the Whiskers of Love program must complete the normal adoption application as well as the short questionnaire below. Families chosen for the program will still be required to sign and uphold all conditions of the Adoption Agreement Contract.

There is no expiration for this offer. Understandably, being qualified for the program doesn't mean the exact timing for a new kitten will be right. You can be approved but decide to wait a year or five before taking your new baby home.  Cats are a big responsibility and commitment so being completely prepared in all aspects of life is needed for a complete and harmonious transition.

Beneficiaries of the Whiskers of Love program will be contacted upon approval and also listed below. Applications will be taken year-round but only one family will be selected per calendar year. Applicants are not required to reapply every year. All applications will be held and reconsidered every year.

I thank God that He continuously blesses and provides for me so that I can pass on love and hope for families going through difficult times. I've experienced tough times on a number of occasions, obviously some much worse than others, but I always had my kitties for emotional support. They helped me through some of the worst situations life has to offer and allowed me to come out smiling and filled with hope and joy on the other side. For me, they were the rainbow after the storm. My goal is to shine the light of hope in the lives of those struggling... And what better way than a little ball of fluffy love!! 💜
